Russian conflict in Ukraine & supply chain effects – March 2022
With ongoing conflict in the region this will have commercial repercussions to the supply of raw materials & fuel costs.
The increased fuel costs we are already seeing will have an impact on delivery costs & fuel shortages may lead to restricted deliveries. Ingredients sourced or processed in the regions will be an issue, & the global knock-on effects will mean that there will be a wide range of raw material shortages.
While some ingredients can be interchanged for the majority of applications this will involve further time and cost which is not ideal.
We have already seen increased lead-times over the last 2 years due to Covid & Brexit. In order to manage we have worked with suppliers & managed our lead times in order that our supply is maintained. Whilst we have contingency plans in place across our business, we are all facing uncertain & unpredictable times ahead.
Moving forward, we ask you to give us as long a lead-time as possible. I would also urge you to have these discussions with your customers so as we can both deliver products.
We are expecting challenges ahead, and will communicate any supply issues as far in advance where possible. We are all aware this is a global issue and as such out of everyone’s control.
